Penn & Teller: UK Tour Update
When is Penn & Teller's UK tour, and how do you buy tickets? Here's everything you must know.
The most iconic duo in magic, Penn & Teller, have just embarked on their maybe, possibly, potentially last UK tour, which is aptly titled The First Final Farewell Tour. Beginning last night, June 1st, in Wolverhampton, the pair will be soon heading to Manchester, followed by Birmingham, and rounding off their three week road trip at the Eventim Apollo in London.
This has been a long time coming for Penn & Teller fans, as the show was originally scheduled way back in 2020 but then… well… I think you know what happened. Anyway, they’ve finally made it to the UK and judging by the show’s title, could this be their final British excursion?
The real answer is: who knows? When the show was originally set to run, Penn Jillette reportedly said “Is this our last UK tour? We don’t know, but you’re welcome to buy tickets and hope for that, while we’ll be hoping for more final tours than the Stones and Cher put together.”
Although never say never, it’s possible this could be their last UK visit. Penn is currently 68 and Teller is 75, with the latter recently undergoing an emergency quadruple bypass surgery, which did affect their vegas residency. Thankfully, Teller made a full recovery and is back in action. Fingers crossed we’ll see them on our little island again in the future.
As for the show itself, it is supposed to be amazing (unsurprisingly). In it, the famous double act has promised “classic magic tricks performed live amid their unique brand of humour and audience participation plus never before seen tricks in the UK.”
With the tour currently on the go, already it’s proving to be a hit; with Express & Star calling last night’s show in Wolverhampton “captivating and funny, with a humour that all ages could enjoy”, and Twitter users describing the show as “fantastic”.
Now, if you haven’t already nabbed yourself a ticket, you’re going to want to get on that fast. A quick look at Ticketmaster suggests that every date has limited availability. With a few seats for sale here and there, your best bet is to keep hoping someone puts their tickets up for sale.
Known for their irreverent humour and twisted take on trickery, Penn & Teller have been entertaining audiences for over forty years. With a residency at their very own Penn & Teller Theater, they are the longest running headline act in the history of Las Vegas. Plus, they’re about to go into the tenth season of their hit TV show, Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Their most recent UK venture was their collaboration with Mischief Theatre, the team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, in the critically acclaimed Magic Goes Wrong, which had a run in London’s West End and on tour between 2019 and 2022.
And… just in case you’re wondering who will look after their residency in Vegas whilst they’re away? Well, just like I reported on last year when the duo embarked on their Australian tour, the Penn & Teller Theater will once again house the amazing Michael Carbonarro’s show. So, if you’re stateside, you can check his show out here.
